Mill heads

Mill heads Mill is a machine or device that reduces a solid or coarse substance into pulp or minute grains by crushing, grinding, or pressing. Milling is a process of grinding in a mill. The gearboxes with parallel shafts can drive mills with single or double lateral drives.

There is a milling tool designed to mill heads or sockets of joints of spherical form, which comprises a cup formed at least partly as a half sphere and in any case can be connected with a hand-operated milling machine to revolve around the axis of the sphere which is perpendicular to the equational plane of the half sphere.

Gears used for mill heads are used in cement plants, sugar mills, sag mills, tube mills, coal mills, sponge iron plants, gold mine sand many more.

Girth gears - Provides structural integrity required to transmit the increased torque. They are widely used in cement industry.

Spur gears - A small spur gear mesh with a large spur gear. The small gear present at the end of a horizontal shaft that run the length of the mill.

Face gears - These gears are attached to the main shaft. They engage into lantern pinions which are mounted on the millstone spindles. They transfer the drive from horizontal to vertical and also increase the shaft speed.

Spiral bevel gears - Used to give high performance. These gears are easy to use for high load.

Helical gears - Placed on the main drive and is used for mesh test.
