I just obtained mine. how do I get that big chunky metal piece off the spline to make it seem like it does in the 2nd image. The spline is not uncovered. Puzzled. Did I buy the improper product?
A: Get rid of the castle nut from the threaded portion of the shaft. The blade hub adapter need to slide off the spline with a minor persuasion. Then the spline and the threads will be exposed.

what is the variation amongst the 250179 and the 250001? They appear similar to me.
A: The total box is the very same, but the enter shaft technical specs differ between the two.
